Cloud cost optimization that keeps production fast

We find the compute, storage, database and network spend you don’t need, change it safely and check every change against your performance baseline. You get a Cost Analysis Report with a prioritised roadmap, and we can implement it with your team.

When teams call us about cloud cost

  • The cloud bill grows faster than traffic or revenue.
  • Test and staging environments run at production size around the clock.
  • Databases and search clusters are sized for a peak that rarely comes.
  • Network and data-transfer charges are a line nobody can explain.
  • Finance wants savings and engineering is worried about stability.

What we look at

Compute right-sizing and scheduling
Oversized instances, idle capacity and scaling that never scales back down. For a telecom we sized RDS instances up for peak hours and down off-peak.
Storage and volume types
Volume classes and provisioned IOPS you pay for and don’t use, such as moving RDS storage from io1 to gp3 while keeping the same IOPS.
Databases and search clusters
RDS, Elasticsearch and other managed data services: instance types, node counts and replicas. Capacity is removed only after testing.
Network and data transfer
Cross-zone traffic, egress, NAT and load balancer charges. On one crypto platform, network was the largest cost driver on AWS.
Platform choice
Whether a workload belongs on a managed cloud, self-managed Kubernetes or bare metal, and what a migration would really save.

How an engagement runs

  1. Analysis

We review usage patterns, billing and cost reports, and how each environment is actually used.

  2. Cost Analysis Report

Where the money goes, what to change, the expected saving and the risk of each item. Use it on your own or with us.

  3. Optimization

We make the changes with your team, one at a time, with performance measured against the baseline.

  4. Outcome

The saving shows up in the bill, and you keep a repeatable way to find the next one.

Cloud cost $1.03M / year

Telecom provider, AWS

RDS storage moved from io1 to gp3 at the same IOPS, instances scaled by time of day, Elasticsearch data nodes cut by a third after testing. That one optimization saves $1.03M a year; across several improvements the total is more than $2M.

Cloud cost €36k → €6k

Metaverse project, Google Cloud

A heavily over-scaled GCP setup. Right-sizing and database tuning brought monthly spend from €36,000 to €6,000 with no impact on user experience.

Cloud cost, DevOps 70-80%

Crypto platform migration

Staged migration to a self-managed Kubernetes cluster on Hetzner, then to AWS following AWS best practices. Tuning with the client’s developers cut costs by 70-80%.

Questions buyers ask us

  • It depends on how your platform was built and how it is used. Published results from our work: $1.03M a year for a telecom on AWS RDS and Elasticsearch, €36k down to €6k a month for a Metaverse project on Google Cloud, and a 70-80% cut for a crypto platform after migration. The audit gives you an estimate for your own setup before you commit to anything.

  • Each change is measured against your current performance baseline, and capacity is removed only after testing. In the telecom case, Elasticsearch data nodes were reduced by 33% after in-depth testing, with no loss of performance.

  • AWS, Google Cloud and Azure, as well as Hetzner and other bare-metal providers, private cloud and on-premises infrastructure.

  • The full audit is a paid service. If you go on to implement all or part of the recommendations with us, the audit is free. It is delivered within five business days, counted from when we have the access and tools we need, and the roadmap is yours to use whether or not you continue with us.
